Does the CGM hurt?
Your CGM is designed to be virtually painless — both to apply and to wear. Most people find the application quick and comfortable, with only a brief sensation when the sensor is inserted. Once applied, it should feel unnoticeable during daily activities.
If your CGM causes discomfort at any point, remove it and contact the Everlab support team at support@everlab.com.au — we’ll organise a replacement and provide setup instructions.
How long does the CGM last?
The FreeStyle Libre 2 CGM lasts up to 14 days from the time of application. Everlab only requires 7 days of tracking for your Nutrition Review, but you’re welcome to continue wearing it for the full 14 days for your own insights.
The device will automatically stop recording after 14 days and should be removed at that point — the sensor cannot be restarted or recharged.
Is a CGM still useful if my insulin is also being tested?
Yes — they complement each other. Your pathology insulin test gives a snapshot of insulin levels at a single point in time (typically fasting). A CGM provides a continuous, real-time view of your glucose patterns across several days, capturing how your body responds to meals, exercise, stress, and sleep — things a single blood test can’t show.
Using both together gives your Care Team a more complete picture of your metabolic health.
