A Continuous Glucose Monitor (CGM) is a small wearable device that tracks your blood glucose levels 24/7, giving you real-time data on how your glucose changes throughout the day and night.
At Everlab, food tracking is one of the key tools we use for your Nutrition Review. A CGM isn't required, but some members choose to wear one for the additional insights it provides.
Benefits of using a CGM
A CGM helps you and your Care Team understand how your body responds to food, exercise, stress, and sleep. It provides:
- Glucose trend insights — spot patterns related to lifestyle choices
- More personalised adjustments — additional context to help your dietitian fine-tune your plan
- Early detection — identify early signs of insulin resistance or pre-diabetes
- Improved glucose stability — stay within a healthy glucose range more consistently
How is a CGM different from other glucose tests?
Traditional blood tests like fasting glucose, HbA1c, or an Oral Glucose Tolerance Test (OGTT) only provide a snapshot in time — they don’t show how your glucose changes throughout the day in response to real life.
A CGM tracks continuously for 7–14 days, revealing real-time trends and responses to food, stress, sleep, and activity. This makes it a valuable tool for preventive health and precision care — enabling you and your Everlab team to make informed decisions based on how your body truly functions over time.
Is a CGM required?
No — a CGM is optional. Your 7-day food tracking is the core requirement for your Nutrition Review. If you’d like to explore whether a CGM is right for you, discuss it with your Everlab doctor during your Onboarding Consult.
