You can buy an Everlab gift with any major credit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express). Most debit cards also work, though they sometimes fail on larger purchases because of your bank's daily online-spend limit. Apple Pay and Google Pay are available too, but only when you're paying from your phone.
What's accepted at the gifting checkout
| Payment method | Available? | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Visa (credit or debit) | Yes | Credit works in every case. Debit usually works, but see "Why was my payment declined?" below if you hit a limit. |
| Mastercard (credit or debit) | Yes | Same as above. |
| American Express | Yes | Sometimes Amex will block large online charges. If that happens, the quickest fix is to use a different card. |
| International credit cards | Yes | All major issuers go through our Stripe checkout. Your bank handles the currency conversion. |
| Apple Pay | Yes, on mobile only | Available when you check out from your iPhone or iPad. Doesn't show on desktop. |
| Google Pay | Yes, on mobile only | Available when you check out from your Android phone. Doesn't show on desktop. |
| Afterpay or other buy-now-pay-later | No | We're not currently set up to accept Afterpay or other instalment options for gifts. |
| BPAY, or bank transfer | No | These aren't supported for gift purchases. |

Why was my payment declined?
If your card was declined at the gifting checkout, it's almost always one of the following. The fix is usually on your bank's side, not ours.
- Your bank's daily online-spend limit. This is by far the most common reason a debit card fails at gifting checkout. Many Australian banks set a default daily limit of $1,000 to $2,000 for online card purchases, which sits below the Diagnostics ($1,199) and Protocol ($2,999) gift prices. To fix it: open your banking app, raise the daily limit, and try the payment again. Or use a credit card, which doesn't usually have the same limit.
- Your bank flagged the transaction as unusual. Banks sometimes block one-off large purchases, particularly to merchants they haven't seen before. The fix: call your bank, confirm the transaction is legitimate, and re-try.
- Your card issuer returned a generic decline. This is most common with American Express. Your card balance and details are fine, the issuer is just refusing the charge. The fastest fix is to try a different card.
- Insufficient funds. Top up the account or use a different card.

Common questions
Can I use a debit card to buy an Everlab gift? Yes, in most cases. Debit cards do sometimes fail at the $1,199 and $2,999 price points because of your bank's daily online-spend limit, so if your debit card is declined, raise the daily limit in your banking app or use a credit card instead.
Can I pay with Apple Pay or Google Pay? Yes, but only when you're paying from your phone. Apple Pay shows on iPhone and iPad. Google Pay shows on Android. Neither appears at our checkout on desktop browsers, so if you'd like to use a wallet, complete the purchase on your phone.
Can I pay in instalments with Afterpay or similar? Not at the moment. The accepted payment methods for gift purchases are credit card, debit card, Apple Pay (mobile), and Google Pay (mobile).
Can I pay by BPAY, direct debit, or bank transfer? These aren't supported for gift purchases. You'll need to use a credit or debit card, or Apple Pay or Google Pay on mobile.
Can I split the payment across two cards? No, gift purchases need to be completed in a single transaction.
Will the recipient see my payment details or a receipt? No. Our gifting flow is set up to keep payment details and receipts away from the recipient, so the surprise is preserved. The recipient gets a separate gift email on the delivery date you chose. If you receive a copy of the receipt yourself, that's expected, and the recipient won't see it.
Is my payment information secure? Yes. Everlab uses Stripe, which holds a PCI DSS Level 1 certification — the highest standard in the payments industry. Your card details are tokenised, which means they're replaced with an encrypted token at the point of payment and never stored on our servers.
What if I want to cancel or refund the gift? Reply to your purchase confirmation SMS, or email us. How we handle the refund depends on whether the gift has already been delivered, and our team will walk you through the steps.
