Everlab sends a few different kinds of messages. Some are gentle reminders to keep you moving through your health plan. Others confirm something on your account, or come from your clinical team about your care.
You can pause the reminders. The messages that are part of your care, or that confirm a booking or payment, always keep coming through. Here is exactly what you can and can't pause, and why.
Can I pause Everlab reminders?
Yes. If you are not ready to start testing yet, your Care team can pause your reminders until a date you choose. This is common when you have renewed but plan to book your testing later in the year.
Pausing covers:
- Reminders to book
- Your weekly task summary and other reminder nudges
While your reminders are paused, you can still book and complete anything you like. Pausing only stops the reminders, it does not hold anything up on your side.
What keeps coming through while I'm paused?
Some messages are part of your care, or confirm something on your account, so they always send even while your reminders are paused. These are called transactional communications:
- Messages from your clinical team, results, and reports
- Appointment confirmations and reminders
- Payment confirmations and receipts
- Anything your doctor has ordered for you, such as blood tests, imaging, or a follow-up consultation
Why can't I pause appointment or clinical messages?
Because they can be time-sensitive, and they help keep your care moving safely.
Here is why that matters. If your doctor reviews your results and spots something worth a closer look, they may order an additional test and ask you to book a consultation. The messages that follow are how you know what to do next, and when. If those were paused, you could miss a step that is important for your health.
The same goes for confirmations. When your appointment is booked or a payment goes through, we let you know so you always have a record of what is happening on your account.
I set a pause date but still received messages about a test. Why?
The pause only stops reminders and summaries. If a message related to a test, a booking, a payment, or something your doctor ordered, it will still come through, because those are part of your care rather than a reminder.
If a message like this ever seems unexpected, reply to it or contact your Care team and we will explain what it relates to.
How do I set up or change a pause?
The quickest way is to manage it yourself. If a message is not a transactional communication, it will usually include an option to pause or turn off those notifications at the bottom. This is common on reminders and booking nudges, so you can adjust them straight away without waiting on anyone.
If you cannot see an option on a message, some communication cadences cannot be managed at an individual level. In that case, get in touch with your Care team and we can look into your request, including pausing everything until a set date you choose.
You can shorten, extend, or lift a pause at any time.
Can I turn off notifications completely?
You can pause and manage your reminders whenever you need a break from them, either through the option at the bottom of a reminder or by asking your Care team. The messages that are part of your care, along with booking, payment, and doctor-ordered confirmations, stay on while you are an active member, because they keep your care safe and your account clear.
If the volume or timing of messages is not working for you, tell your Care team. We would rather adjust things with you than have you miss something that matters.
